Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli
  • 1/8 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 1 dash garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Begin boiling water in medium sauce pan.

  2. While water is boiling, begin cutting broccoli into large chunks.

  3. Once water is at a rolling boil, place broccoli into the water. It will not cover all the broccoli, as you're going to steam it. Put a lid on your sauce pan and steam until tender.

  4. While the broccoli is steaming, begin melting butter.

  5. Once butter is melted, mix in flour. Continue melting until it is a golden brown.

  6. Mix in the heavy cream and bring to a slow bubble.

  7. Begin mixing in cheese slowly. It is important that you do not add it all at once.

  8. Add in garlic powder.

  9. Serve sauce over broccoli and enjoy!
