Pecan Pie With Secolari Olive Oil Crust

We’ve been looking for ways to cut out butter in our diet. As the holidays approach, we’ve been playing around with different favorite holiday dishes that usually require the use of a heavy amount of butter.

This pie crust is a perfect way to accomplish our goal. It’s flakey, flavorful, and better than a crust with butter or shortening. Using Secolari Olive Oil gave it the undertone of sweetness that we had hoped for. After a few attempts, we finally found the recipe for the perfect Olive Oil Pie Crust.

If you’ve never heard of Secolari, they create high quality olive oil, balsamic, and other seasonings. We’ve tried a couple of their products now, and they never fail to impress. Their products would create a perfect gift (can somebody say, Christmas?!) and really round out any dish. We used this Olive Oil for this recipe.

We decided to pair this crust with a pecan pie filling and wow. You’ll never use butter in a pie again. It will be the star of any Thanksgiving dessert table!

Let’s get started.
